Let me introduce myself…

“The hardest part is starting,” that’s what everyone says, right? I wanted to start this blog off with something dazzlingly intriguing, witty, and entertaining… but after an excruciating cycle of typing and deleting, I decided to go for a simple approach.

All About Fox Bandit

·       I am (currently) 31 years old

·       Someday I want to: live in a haunted house

·       My favorite color: Midnight Blue

·       I would like to visit: Narnia and Hogwarts, but probably not Middle-Earth

·       My favorite things are: my red-tabby cat and my hwarang boyfriend

·       My favorite food: Sushi and Kimbap

·       I do not have a favorite book, movie, or song, that’s a ridiculous question that’s on every “about me questionnaire” but I can’t settle for just one in any of those categories

·       I enjoy: reading fantasy, mythology, and history, playing video games, and watching scary movies

All About Fox Bandit’s Projects

·       Dragon Series: are in my top 3 favorite fantasy creatures, but have you ever noticed how many versions of dragons there are? Not just the recent versions reimagined by every fantasy artist and author out there (including yours truly) but in lore across the world. Dragons are everywhere and have been for centuries. One reason for this may be because, as I’ve heard one person say, is that the terms “dragon” doesn’t necessarily refer to a single type of being but rather is more of category that allows many variations and freedom for interpretations. So I decided to create a series of paintings to reflect the different styles and stories or dragons in hopes of either piquing others’ curiosity or simply appealing to those who happen to share my interest in that fantasy being.

·       Memories of Israel series: is a new and ongoing project. I went on a trip to Israel that only lasted about nine days a few years ago, but while the actual memories of the scenery and activities are fading with each day, there is a certain feeling that has left an imprint on me. I cannot think of a word, or even a series of words, that come close to explaining that particular feeling that still reawakens whenever I think of that time… so I decided to paint some of the places I saw in a way that includes not just the visual representation of the land or items themselves, but perhaps the way I think and feel about those things when I remember them.

·       The Chronicles of the Deathless Stray (webtoon): is an ongoing comic based on a story that I actually started writing about fifteen years ago (while I was still in high school). There are plenty of aspects about it that have changed over the years as I fleshed out the narrative or cut out other parts. The story follows Jade, who is complex, a chaotic neutral, and a bit of a bastard- but in a good way! Maybe…. You’ll have to decide. The plan is to create many books (or seasons?) of The Chronicles of the Deathless Stray, starting with his origin story.  Makes sense to start there right? It would be awesome if you are one of my early readers and are able to consume the tale as a create, because I will go in chronological order; however, it’s possible that the different seasons will be able to be read independently from each other if desired. You’ll see what I mean later.

·       Irvaine and Orchid (webtoon): is a short story comic I created as a prequel to my two part novel Rayalyn. It’s kind of an origin story for the kingdom of “Eramusk” as it takes place in the wilds of the Nurre (the rainforest where all of the characters live). The main plot is really about Irvaine and Orchid’s love story.

·       Rayalyn (novel): is a retelling of Rapunzel with a gender twist. Rayalyn (the Rapunzel figure) is a boy, and is found by a martial arts princess named Yazmyne. It’s set in an original world that resembles some kind of mix between the Amazon rainforests and some of the jungles in Asia. Instead of witch, there’s a monk with a grudge against humanity, and monsters that prowl the jungles adding extra danger to the scene. I enjoyed writing this story, and exploring the mentality of Rayalyn as well as his relationship with Yazmyne. It’s possible there could be sequels in the future—or prequels.

·       And finally, NFTs. I’m still learning about the NFT world to be honest, but I highly recommend looking into it if you’re interested in collections and things like eth and bitcoin. I created my first collection of NFT art in the forms of historical figures in chibi form, so in a way you could say I’m mixing the old world with the new. Either way I just think history is interesting, or there are some amazing people and stories that were never covered in school. So this collection was created for my own interest, but also to share the stories about people that you may have never even heard about.

And now you know a bunch of things about me! Anyway, thank you for visiting my blog and welcome to the Fox Bandit Den. I may have a lot of projects now, but there is going to be more in the future. I hope reincarnation is real, but we’ll see how much I can do in this life. I hope you enjoy my work, and if you’d like to follow my journey then feel free to revisit my page every once in a while. Most of my future posts will likely feature “behinds the scenes” information about whatever I’m working on the time, including research, progress videos, and images. If you’re ever curious about anything in particular, you can always leave a comment on any of my social platforms. I’ll probably just answer you there, but expand on the topic here.
