The Battling Dragons

$75.00

The battle this painting is depicting is based off an old Welsh tale that takes place during the time when the Celts still ruled Britain. Some call the tale “The Prophesy of Merlin/Myrrdin.” There are many varying details, but overall there are some consistent keys which are these: the red dragon represents the Welsh and the white dragon represents the invading Saxons. Eventually the red dragon wins the lengthy duel and becomes a symbol of pride for the future generations of Wales.
